Kenwood Walkie Talkie Nevada
Kenwood, a company with roots dating back to 1946, underwent a transformation in 1960 when it was rebranded as the “Trio Corporation.” Subsequently, in 1963, Trio established its inaugural international office in Los Angeles, California, USA.
During this era, Trio demonstrated notable innovation, producing oscilloscopes like the well-received 10 MHz CS-1562A. In 1961, the Kenwood brand emerged in Los Angeles, providing an American-sounding identity for the company.
Over time, Kenwood’s brand recognition surpassed that of Trio. In 1981, the decision was made to adopt the Kenwood name globally, leading to the official renaming of the company as the “Kenwood Corporation” in 1986.
Kenwood has been a pioneer in offering distinct lines of HF, VHF/UHF, and portable amateur radio models, some equipped with built-in Digital data modes such as APRS (Automatic Packet Reporting System) based on AX.25 Packet, along with the necessary modems for data transmission.
The TS-2000 transceivers, part of Kenwood’s top-of-the-line offerings, deliver robust performance within a compact package and include built-in Digital data modes like APRS (based on AX.25 Packet). Similarly, the mobile TM-D710A (successor to the earlier TM-D700A) and handheld TH-D7 series also feature these advanced digital capabilities.
